To elementary and middle school sponsors,

Thank you all for participating in our 2011 Mighty Mu competition!  The full results have been posted to the Mighty Mu page in addition to all tests and solutions.  We hope that all sponsors, parents and students had a good time and we hope to see many of you next year!


To our club members,

To everyone who volunteered their Saturday to help us run the competition, thank you so much for all of your hard work!  This year was one of the most successful Mighty Mu competitions we have ever had and we could not have done it without all of you help.  A special thanks to all of the board members who volunteered lots of their time writing, editing and preparing tests; organizing packets and T-shirts; and making sure that all of the events of the day ran smoothly.  Keep up the good work everybody!

September Update Information

The 2011-2012 schedule, membership application, and field trip permission form have all been added to the download section of the website.  All applications and dues must be turned in by September 22 before 1:55 PM to Ms. Loring's room (4-208 ).  The schedule also contains general club information including the officer e-mails and the sponsor's emails.  The permission form must be filled out before competitions take place and proof of insurance must also be provided if you plan on attending a competition.  Feel free to view any other sections of this beautiful website and if you have any questions, you may contact any member of the mu alpha theta board through email or one of the sponsors.

Hello all and welcome to the 2011-2012 school year!  We are very excited for this upcoming Mu year!  Our first general meeting will take place on September 8th but before then, a schedule of competitions and important dates for the Mu Alpha Theta year will be available soon.  Also the membership points have changed this year and the requirement for active membership is now 40 points.  The point values for all activities are as follows:


 1 point – attending a general meeting

 1 point – attending a practice

 1 point – attending an hour of scrapbooking

 1 point – spending one hour or one period volunteering on behalf of Mu Alpha Theta (making copies, for example)

 2 points – taking photos at competitions; 1 person chosen by Riva before the competition

 3 points – attending an in-school competition (such as the Dostal-Nunn)

 5 points – attending a regional competition

 6 points – attending a statewide competition

 10 points – attending the state’s competition*

 25 points – attending the national’s competition*

 *or signing up to attend and/or paying if final points are determined before these competitions
